Framing and drywall work is the backbone of any renovation. Get it wrong and everything that comes after — electrical, plumbing, tile, paint — will show it. At Paun Craft, we treat framing and drywall not as a commodity but as a craft. Every wall is plumb, every corner is straight, and every surface is finished to a standard that holds up under paint, tile, or whatever finish comes next.

We work with both wood and metal stud framing, standard and moisture-resistant drywall, and cement board for wet areas. Whether you need a single partition wall, a full room buildout, or complex ceiling work, we bring the same precision to every job — across all five NYC boroughs.

Why NYC Contractors & Homeowners Trust Paun Craft

01. Plumb Walls, Straight Lines

A wall that's off by even a small margin causes problems for every trade that follows — tile won't line up, doors won't close right, paint will show every imperfection. We frame and finish to a standard that makes the next step easy, not harder.

02. Right Material for Every Application

Standard drywall in a bathroom will fail within a year. We always specify the correct material — moisture-resistant drywall, cement board, or standard sheetrock — based on where it's going and what's going on top of it.

03. Seamlessly Integrated With Your Full Renovation

Most framing and drywall work happens as part of a larger renovation. We coordinate the sequencing with electrical and plumbing rough-in so nothing has to be opened up again after the walls are closed.

How We Work

Assessment & Layout

We review the plans or discuss the scope on-site, confirm material specifications, and give you a clear written estimate. We flag any structural considerations or building requirements before work begins.

Framing & Rough-In Coordination

We install the framing in the correct sequence, coordinating with electrical and plumbing rough-in so all systems are in place before the walls are closed. No rework, no surprises.

Drywall, Tape & Finish

Once framing and rough-in are complete, we hang, tape, mud, and sand to a paint-ready finish. Every corner clean, every surface smooth, every seam invisible.

FAQ

Wood stud framing is traditional and works well for most residential applications. Metal stud framing is lighter, straighter, and often preferred for interior partitions in NYC apartments and commercial spaces — especially where fire code requires it. We'll recommend the right approach for your project.

Yes — we can add partition walls to reconfigure your space. Depending on your building type and whether the wall affects any structural elements, it may require building management approval. We'll advise during the assessment.

We finish to Level 4 as standard — fully taped, mudded, and sanded, ready for paint or wallpaper. If you need Level 5 for a high-gloss paint finish, we can do that too.

Yes — we can install insulation and acoustic soundproofing within wall cavities as part of the framing scope. This is especially popular in NYC apartments where noise between units is a common issue.
